Grants for Teaching with New Technology

The James M. Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence makes a limited number of small grants (up to $400) to faculty or instructors to support the use of technology in First Year Seminars, Honors seminars, and other courses taught in the Johnston Center. Activities supported by the grants must be scheduled in the Johnston Center. Some possibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creation of multimedia student projects and presentations
  • Development of new delivery methods for course content using technology available in the Johnston Center
  • The purchase of software
  • Video teleconferencing
  • Other innovating uses of technologies available in the Johnston Center

We are particularly interested in activities that might be open to the larger campus community, but that is not a requirement for funding.

Because of limited resources and high demand for grants, we are unable to support purely social activities.

Instructors who are eligible for grants for teaching with new technology will receive via e-mail a notice of upcoming deadlines. Applicants are asked to complete and submit the online application form.
