Mentors work closely with the Program Coordinator and their group members to develop their proposed project into a collaborative and academically-rich set of goals and initiatives. They are responsible for organizing and administering their projects by setting regular group meetings, delegating specific tasks and responsibilities, managing events and activities, and fostering full group participation. In addition, they meet regularly with the Program Coordinator to design budgets and timelines and to develop their leadership and mentoring skills. Mentors have access to up to $1,000 of CLP funds to implement their projects, and they are encouraged to locate additional funding sources if necessary. All mentors live in Cobb Residence Hall. Participants: Participants stay actively engaged in their projects throughout the 2010-11 academic year; they work within the guidelines set by the project mentors and the CLP Coordinator to contribute to their group’s success. This includes—but is not limited to—attending regular group meetings, accomplishing specific tasks and responsibilities defined by the mentor, helping design a budget and a timeline, and fulfilling all commitments made to the group. All CLP participants live in Cobb Residence Hall. |
