| Connected Learning Program Frequently Asked Questions |
|
No. Budgets for individual projects are developed in consultation with the Connected Learning Program Coordinator. The Coordinator will help students finalize plans, work toward realistic goals, identify other sources of funding, and take advantage of a range of existing campus resources.
2. I want to propose a project and two of my friends want to join and work with me. How can we do this? You should submit an application under “Propose a Project.” Make sure you provide a clear title for your project. If your friends would like to be co-mentors with you, see question #3. If they would like to be project participants, ask them to list your project as their top choice in their “Join a Project” application and to list their connection to you in their explanation of why they want to be in the CLP.
3. Two or more of us of us want to be team leaders. Can we do this? Yes. Both (or all) leaders should submit under “Propose a Project” and identify yourselves as co-leaders. Be sure to use the same proposal for your applications and be sure you all identify the proposal by the same title.
4. I’m a project leader. Do I have to allow first year students to join my project? Yes. One of the goals of the Connected Learning Program is to help entering students make connections at Carolina. This unique program enables incoming students a chance to connect to a group of continuing students who share their interests and passions.
5. I want to transfer into Carolina at mid-year. Can I still join the Connected Learning Program? Possibly. Send an email to the Connected Learning Program Coordinator (you’ll find this by clicking on the “Contact Us” link) and let the Coordinator know that you’re interested in joining a project. The Coordinator will suggest 2-3 projects where space for new participants is available. If one of these interests you, you’ll be asked to submit an application online, under “Join a Project.”
6. If I want to propose a project, what application form do I use? Click on the “Propose a Project” link.

8. I’m a continuing student and want to join a project. Is this okay? Yes.
9. I’m an incoming first year or transfer student. May I propose a project? No. You must join an approved project.
10. Where can I find a list of approved projects? The list of projects available to join will be on your “Join a Project” application page. Click on “Join a Project” and read all of the information on that page. |
