Andy Thorn & Bolin Creek |
| |
Banjo player Andy Thorn's debut solo release was a long time in the making. He spent the summers of 2003 and 2004 in Colorado touring with friends, the Broke Mountain Bluegrass Band winning both the Rockygrass Banjo and Band contests.2005 was an exciting year as touring with Larry Keel as a part of Natural Bridge allowed him to play at some of the biggest festivals in the country while somehow managing to complete his music degree. Highlights included backing up Jim Lauderdale at
Bonneroo, playing a set at Northwest String Summitt with Darol Anger on Fiddle, jamming with Yonder Mountain late night at High Sierra, and playing with Chris Thile and Tony Trishka in NYC. Thorn left Natural Bridge in the summer of 2006, and is back playing with the Big Fat Gap
as well as many other musical projects.

Carolina Student Performers:
Caleb & Dylan
Friday Afternoon Jam |
| |
Caleb Rudow and Dylan Shrader have been playing music together since they were 14 years old in Asheville, NC. They share a deep affection for folk and traditional music. Dylan comes from a deep blues and folk background, and has played blues in Asheville-area clubs before attending UNC. Caleb has also been a staple at Asheville-area open mic nights
When Friday Afternoon Jam began, it was exactly what its name describes. It was just a group of guys getting together on Friday afternoons to play music. Most important in the live setting is the connection between musicians and audience. Being a jam band, they cherish this thread. |
