Thursdays on the Terrace

Spring 2005 Schedule

Performances take place on the Educational Foundation Terrace of the James M. Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence in Graham Memorial. Performances typically run 12-2 p.m.

February 10 Drew Pilant, Erich Lieth, and Gabe Pelli
Music for tabla, keyboard, and violin
February 24 Equinox
Cool Jazz and hot pop standards performed by UNC's own Steve Allred, Holden Thorpe and friends
March 3 Creighton Irons
A Taste of Soul Notes: student musicians perform original musical productions exploring issues of race, class, and gender. Watch a video of this special performance.
March 24 Triangle Tuba Quartet
The Triangle Tuba Quartet (TTQ) consists of two Euphoniums, a small F tuba, and a larger BBb tuba to deliver unique life performances of both classical music and modern American music with a jazz or latin feel
April 7 Big Fat Gap
Smoking bluegrass by the group named "band of the month" by The Independent in April 2004
April 14 Casey Molino Dunn
Baritone Casey Molino Dunn will perform selections from theatre and opera accompanied by Jeremy Peterman on piano
April 21 Darrell Scott
Darrell Scott, who has written hits for the Dixie Chicks and Garth Brooks, toured with Guy Clark and Sam Bush, and recorded with Steve Earle, Patty Loveless, Randy Travis, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Tim O’Brien, sings and plays his distinctive blend of country, bluegrass, folk, zydeco and jazz.

The James M. Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence sponsors a lunch time music series designed to supplement courses offered by academic units on campus. All performances are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted on the current performance schedule.
