DJ Pez and Cream De La easily rank as two of the region's
finest hip-hop artists, bringing to their performances
a level of musical and lyrical skill that has earned
them widespread acclaim. As the heart of Chapel Hill's
Sankofa, Pez and Cream De La helped forge an exciting
hip-hop sound that stood apart from its regional counterparts,
inviting comparisons with such national hip-hop crews
as the Roots. While Sankofa takes a break, DJ Pez and
Cream De La are pursuing their individual paths, and
are coming together for a rare joint performance.
