"The Tar Angel"

The Center for European Studies and Professor Martine Antle’s Honors class on “Identities in European Cinema” (HNRS 27) will sponsor Canadian filmmaker Denis Chouinard who will speak about his recent film “The Tar Angel.” The film deals with issues facing immigrants of Algerian descent in Canada today.

It has won the best Canadian movie award and a prize (Prix du Jury) at the 2002 Berlin Film Festival.

This event has also been organized in collaboration with The Center for Canadian Studies,  The Center for French and Francophone Studies and The Department of Romance Studies at Duke University.
