Moving Forward After Katrina: College Students' Ideas to Renew New Orleans and Improve U.S. Disaster Policy

This program was presented by the Special Center for Emergency Preparedness and Relief, a National Policy Initiative of The Roosevelt Institution. It brought together college undergraduates and experts from a range of fields to discuss responses and new ideas, as well as provide a voice for college students. The event was held in the James M. The program brought together college undergraduates and professionals interested in an exchange of ideas and hopes
Topics included elections after Katrina and improving international relief efforts
Afternoon sessions met with expert advisors on insurance, rebuilding efforts, and civic particpation, and other concerns
Sessions provided a forum for students to both learn and voice their own ideas from the Katrina disaster
